Judicial Review decision update - 28 January 2021
We have been advised that the Judicial Review applicants are appealing the decision. The appeal will likely be heard in the second half of this year, with the decision to be delivered some months later.
Tūpuna Maunga Authority refuses to give an undertaking that it won’t fell or otherwise harm Ōwairaka’s trees before the appeal decision is released. The applicants have applied for an injunction to safeguard the trees until then. It will be heard in Auckland High Court on 10 February.
The trees are therefore safe for the moment, but this may change on 10 February. We will keep you posted.
