Tupuna Maunga Authority has already destroyed hundreds of trees from Mangere Mountain, Pigeon Mountain, Mt Wellington and Mt Richmond. Our tree-saving efforts on Owairaka / Mt Albert could affect the fates of hundreds of trees and the life-forms they support on the other maunga.

Local communities are waking up to what’s coming their way, and some are already mobilising so they can begin their own occupations when the chainsaws are coming their way. Contact us if you would like to be put in touch with a maunga tree protector in your area. We have also created a Free Resources page for any communities who want to undertake their own tree protection actions.
